Dr. Lee is a graduate of Methodist University. He has done post graduate
work in psychology, economic development and holds a Doctorate of
Divinity Degree in Pastoral Ministry. He served as one of America's original "VISTA" volunteers working with migrant laborers in Texas and California.
Dr. Lee is widely sought as a
speaker in the non-profit world and as a "consultant" and guest
preacher in the church world. He is frequently called upon to assist
other churches with "planning" seminars and to work in the area of
conflict resolution. Here at home he particularly enjoys working with
DivorceCare, GriefShare and pastoral counseling.
“The Doctor Will See You Now”
All of us go to the doctor when we’re in pain. We’ve been told an “once of prevention is worth a pound of cure” but because of our busy lives we seldom invest, time or money to get that annual physical. We don’t catch serious problems at the earliest stages. We wait until we’re in pain before we seek the help we need.
Our spiritual life is a lot like that too. Even the most active Christians will benefit from taking the time to see how they are really doing. Are we doing the same things, in the same way but with less result? Doing the same tired old things with renewed enthusiasm will not “cure what ails us!” The time has come. Our faith needs a check-up!
Maybe Parkside can help. Our church is not the same old thing, week after week. We are founded on compassionate ministries and work hard to bridge the gap between our church and the community we serve. We believe Jesus Christ is truly the great physician and wants you to have a complete, full and rewarding life. Come on in, the Doctor will see you now!
“Halfway home and a long way to go”
Sadly, today finds Christians and churches of all denominations struggling with some common concerns. The “symptoms” of the problems displayed in our communities today are different than those of years gone by. The “Beaver Cleaver Family” is not the typical family unit in suburban America today. Some old community illnesses have grown to epidemic perorations in the past two decades. Divorce, family financial problems, parent/child relationships and a declining level of individual health are all experiencing a dramatic growth. All this is cast against a backdrop of employment instability, increasing costs of healthcare and shrinking purchasing power of retirement checks. Some individuals are even losing their retirement income and health benefits after a lifetime of work to secure them. The world of today can be cold, uncertain and cruel. The lives of everyday people reflect the times we live in.
Today, the “people next door” face a multitude of complex problems that can be overwhelming at times. In a cold, uncaring world we believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ has the answers you are looking for.
You used to go to church. You want to find relevance in your Sunday worship but somehow your faith seems distant and remote. Like so many seekers today you believe in God but find yourself “halfway home and along way to go”. At the Park you'll find a vibrant, relevant ministry that may be just what you are looking for. We invite you to visit with us. After all, everyone enjoys a visit to “The Park”
